Conesaboj Lab

Electron Nanoscopy of Quantum Materials

We exploit high-resolution characterization methods based on Transmission Electron Microscopy to investigate the properties of novel quantum materials. In this respect, we develop innovative methodologies to map the relationship between the structural, chemical, and electrical properties of these materials with very high spatial and spectral resolution, in order to pave the way towards quantum technologies applications.

Current BEP and MEP projects available in our group:

  • Background modelling of electron energy loss spectra (BEP project)
  • Optical properties of semiconductor nanowires from electron energy loss spectroscopy (MEP project)
  • Materials for quantum computing (in collaboration with QuTech)
  • Atomic defects in Molybdenum disulphide monolayers by means of high resolution TEM (in collaboration with SteeleLab)

We are seeking highly motivated Bachelor and Master students to join our group!
